Suburban Alchemist
pencil and Photoshop

Two illustrations for the October 2008 edition of The Future Fire ezine, The story is "Suburban Alchemist" by Rob Sharp.
This was done with each character, and the truck, and the background, all as separate sketches. I then combined them in Photoshop and darkened the lines, so they'd still be sketchy, and then painted in the soft colors in the background with the brush tool set on semi-transparent.
